Check Georgia Parole Decisions

To find parole information for someone released after an Echols County state sentence, separate a public Board meeting from an individual parole review. The State Board of Pardons and Paroles publishes meeting notices and video pages, but it does not publish a simple list of every private case result. Individual timing is checked through the Inmate TPM Lookup. A person already released on parole is checked through the Parolee Database and the community supervision office. None of these sources replaces the Lowndes jail record for a county-jail-only release.

Georgia Parole Eligibility Limits

Parole eligibility is a legal threshold, not an order to release. The Board's eligibility and guidelines page says most parole-eligible people reach statutory eligibility after one-third of the sentence. O.C.G.A. Section 42-9-45 supplies the main framework. The Board still weighs the case and may deny parole at the first eligible review.

Several groups follow other rules or cannot receive parole. The research identifies serious violent felony non-life sentences for specified offenses with qualifying crime dates, fourth-or-more felony recidivists, life without parole, and other statutory exclusions. A parole-eligible life sentence uses grant-or-deny review rather than the usual tentative parole month pattern. The judgment, offense date, sentence type, and GDC record must be checked before estimating eligibility.

Georgia Rules Chapter 475-3 adds Board procedures, time-served requirements, notification to officials, parolee hearing rules, and confidentiality. It includes a five-year reconsideration rule for guideline inmates and a six-month-to-one-year review after parole revocation unless the Board directs otherwise. Those intervals concern review. They do not guarantee release.

Echols Parole Identity Checks

The TPM application can be searched with a six-digit inmate number, GDC ID, or personal information. An identifier is safer than a name alone. Compare the full name, state offender number, conviction, and known sentence data with the GDC offender record and Echols court judgment.

A missing TPM can have several explanations. The person may not be eligible, may not yet have a published month, may have been searched under the wrong identifier, or may not be a GDC state inmate. Someone who only spent time in Lowndes County Jail after an Echols arrest is outside this state-prison process unless later sentenced and transferred to GDC.

After release, the Parolee Database offers a different search. Its documented fields include first name, last name, race, and offense, with partial-search behavior. A parolee result shows conditional community status, not the complete confidential Board file or Lowndes release record.

Georgia Parole Date Changes

A tentative month can move because the Board still has work to complete. Misconduct may postpone or cancel timing. Program completion, a verified residence plan, counseling, or other conditions may be required before release. The Board may also withdraw a parole grant before its effective date when it concludes that withdrawal serves the public interest.

GDC sentence computation is a separate source of change. Jail-time credit can be corrected, and eligible offenders may earn Performance Incentive Credit that affects a tentative parole month or maximum release date. GDC tells an inmate with a computation concern to speak with a counselor, then use the grievance process if the concern remains. The conviction clerk may need to address source sentencing or jail-credit data.

A warrant or detainer can prevent an expected return to the community. The final verification chain is GDC custody data, Board action, the actual release event, and DCS supervision afterward. No one entry supplies the whole sequence.

Georgia Parole Review Records

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles decides parole for eligible state inmates. Parole means conditional release from prison before the full sentence expires. It is not probation, which a court imposes. An Echols arrestee who never entered GDC custody does not have a state parole hearing for that jail stay.

For an eligible non-life inmate, the Board may establish a Tentative Parole Month or deny parole. A life-sentence case uses a grant-or-deny framework. The Board may reconsider a decision and may withdraw a grant before its effective date.

Search Echols Parole Timing

Use the Inmate TPM Lookup explanation before opening the application. TPM is the month in which final review may occur and a release date may be set. It is not a final release date. Good conduct and required programs can affect the result, while misconduct may postpone or cancel the month.

  1. Confirm the person is a GDC state inmate.
  2. Search the Board's TPM application with the available identifier.
  3. Treat a TPM as tentative review timing.
  4. Check GDC for the correctional release date.
  5. After release, search the Parolee Database.

If the conviction came from Echols, the Superior Court sentence can help resolve identity and sentence questions.

Public Georgia Board Meetings

The Board publishes public meeting notices through press releases and posts video pages for some meetings. A December 2025 notice scheduled a January 2026 monthly meeting under Georgia's open-meetings law. A June 2026 video page preserved another monthly meeting. The Board homepage also showed that July 2026 was canceled, so readers should verify each month's notice rather than assume an unbroken schedule.

These meetings concern Board business. They are not a public docket of every inmate's case review. Georgia Rules Chapter 475-3 states that records not made public elsewhere or obtained in a public hearing can remain confidential unless declassified.

Georgia Parole Outcomes Explained

Result What it means
TPM set A future month is selected for final review.
Parole denied No parole grant was made at that review.
Release date set The Board approved a date, subject to conditions and later action.
Grant withdrawn The planned parole release will not take effect.
Parolee record The person has entered conditional community supervision.

Eligibility is not release. The Board says many parole-eligible inmates reach statutory eligibility after one-third of a sentence. Serious violent felony groups, life without parole, and other categories can be excluded or follow different rules.

Echols Parole Supervision Contact

After release, DCS handles community supervision. Its Valdosta Field Office serves Brooks, Echols, Lowndes, and the Southern Circuit. That local office is the relevant contact for many Echols parolees, while the Board remains the source for the parole decision.

DCS Valdosta Field Office
209 North Ashley Street
Valdosta, GA 31601
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The Board lists its Atlanta address as 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SE, Suite 430, and a parole and corrections call center at 404-656-4661. Use DCS for supervision routing, not for a Lowndes physical release record.

Parole Release Verification Chain

Use GDC to confirm state custody and the correctional release date. Use TPM Lookup only for tentative pre-release timing. Use the Parolee Database and DCS after release. When the conviction arose in Echols, compare the court sentence if the dates or identity do not align.

A person can leave GDC on parole and remain under strict conditions. A violation or new warrant can return that person to custody. The June 2026 regional example of an arrest on a probation-violation warrant shows why release from one institution does not erase other supervision duties. For the broader distinction, consult the Echols post-release supervision page.

When dates conflict, note which agency published each one. A GDC maximum date, Board review month, planned parole date, and completed release can differ because they describe separate steps.
