Echols Scheduled and Actual Release
A projected date is an estimate or computed custody date. It is not proof that a person walked out that day. In Georgia state custody, the GDC date, maximum release date, tentative parole month, and actual parole date describe different points. A tentative parole month signals when the Board expects final review. It is not a final parole decision. The actual release occurs only after the responsible agency completes its process and all conditions or holds are resolved.
County custody works differently. The Echols County Sheriff's Office says its arrestees are transported to Lowndes County Jail. A person held there on an Echols case may leave on bond, dismissal, court order, time served, sentence, or transfer. No official Echols projected-release calculator or rolling date list was found. For that person, Lowndes jail records and the Echols court file are more useful than a GDC date tool.
A transfer is not freedom. Someone may leave Lowndes custody for GDC, another county, federal authorities, or immigration custody. The destination and release reason matter as much as the date.
Find an Echols Release Date
Begin with the custody system, not just the county named in the charge. Echols arrest records, Lowndes jail records, Georgia prison records, and federal records do not cover the same people. Full name, date of birth, booking or case number, and GDC identification can prevent a false match.

Echols GDC Release Date Fields
GDC's offender tools serve state offenders. Georgia sources describe searches by name, ID, case number, age, and identifying details. Results can provide facility location, release date, and charges. Those fields help distinguish a current state inmate from a released state offender. They should not be read as a full court docket or proof that another jurisdiction has no hold.

The GDC friends-and-family questions page says sentence-computation concerns should first go through the inmate's counselor. If unresolved, the inmate may file a grievance. The clerk in the county of conviction may need to correct or confirm jail-time credit sent to GDC.
Note: A GDC date applies to state custody and should not be copied onto an Echols county-jail case without state sentencing.
Echols PIC Release Credits
Georgia's Performance Incentive Credit program, or PIC, is the researched earned-time path for eligible state offenders. A person can earn up to 12 PIC points. Those points may reduce a tentative parole month or maximum release date by one to 12 months. Credits can come from completing a case plan, making educational or vocational gains, and performing a work or detail assignment.
PIC is not open to everyone. GDC lists exclusions that include a death sentence, a sentence of two years or less, a non-parole-eligible or mandatory-minimum offense such as a serious violent felony category, and a life sentence. The exact record must be checked before assuming that a program credit changes an Echols County release date.

The program can affect state calculations, but it does not create good-time credit for an Echols pretrial detainee in Lowndes County Jail.
Echols Parole Timing Rules
Georgia is not governed by a universal claim that every inmate serves about 85 percent. The Board states that most parole-eligible inmates become statutorily eligible after one-third of a sentence. Eligibility is only the first threshold. O.C.G.A. Section 42-9-45 provides the main framework, while serious violent felony rules and other exclusions can bar or alter parole.
The Board may set a tentative parole month, deny parole, or review a life-sentence case under a different grant-or-deny pattern. At final review it may set a release date. Good conduct and program completion can be required. Misconduct may postpone or cancel timing. The Board may withdraw a parole grant before its effective date if it concludes that doing so is in the public interest.

Why Echols Release Dates Change
Dates move for reasons tied to the sentence, conduct, other cases, and release plan. Some changes advance a state date. Others delay it or prevent release from one facility from becoming a return to the community. The agency that owns the affected record should confirm the change.

A detainer is a request or legal basis for another agency to hold or take custody of a person. It explains why one case may be resolved while release still does not occur. A remand returns a person to custody by court order. Both terms describe legal custody steps, not a routine delay in updating a website.
Confirm Echols Actual Release
A release alert can narrow the time of a custody change. It cannot certify the full disposition. The Georgia VINE inmate check may provide status and notification for a recent Lowndes custody record. Coverage depends on agency data feeds, so no match is not proof that a release never happened.
For a local case, compare the VINE event with Lowndes jail records and the Echols court disposition. For state prison, compare GDC with the Board's TPM or parole record. For a federal sentence, use the BOP Inmate Locator, which can show Released or Not in BOP Custody and a release date. A federal result still does not rule out state or local custody.
